Well Cameron is buying a Kick, just give him a couple weeks and buy that one for less HAHAHAHA. On a serious note, if it is a trail only rig, then Samurai or Tracker are the way to go, if it is a Dual purpose then got Tracker. If you do a Samurai, then you will likely do a 1.6L swap anyway and you will want to start with at least the 5.13 gears out of a tracker for it. A Hibred rear axle will be a good start, but eventually you will want a set of Toyotas. Gearing for the Samurai is either but could be done in a couple ways, some axle some T case. Trackers have fewer case options, but you can make a doubler out of a tracker case. The other thing to consider is do you want Auto or manual?

My next rig that I build I would like to find a 2 wl. drive auto tracker and stick a sammy axle under the front and change the gearing to 5:13 locked front and back and change the rear springs to yj leaf springs and a sammy T case . And no bigger than 34" tires unless I had some toy axles
Look around and see what you can find and we will call you if we hear of anything.........don't be shy to ask for help if you need a hand........I think it's time for you to get another rig for sure she had a rough day today

yea i dont know what i want to do auto would be the best as i dont have to worry about a clutch leaving me dead
it will only be a trial rig it will never see the street
locked front and rear are a forsue thing
would doing a spring over with the stock springs be enough to clear 34"s or do i need to put lift springs under there aswell?
and a hybrid axle would be a sammy-tracker slammed together>?
and what about driveshafts? angles>? will it need a slip yoke eliminator>?

Spring over with a sammy will clear 34" tires no problem with a small amount of triming. I used spacers on my front driveshaft and I cut down and rewelded a front sammy driveshaft to use in the rear of the sammy.
And a hybrid rear the center part is tracker and the axle tubes are sammy .
You dont need to get any slip yokes the stock stuff will work with a bit of tweeking.

thanks thats good to know

so the parts from a tracker are:
5:13 gears centre to make a hybrid and a 1.6l motor
the rest can come from the stock sammy
can i lengthen the stock rear DS or will it be far to short?

if its already on 31's fr that price i think it is for sure wrth taking a look at
just be smart about it when you do really look at it and look it over
check front shock towers they rot like motha fukahs on them, floors like everything and hard tops check the rear roof and convertable the rear floor behind the rear seats!
as for motor trans and case if it runs moves and 4x4 works your pretty much golden with them- they are great drive trains!

i have seen it before never stopped to look at it but when i drove by about a month ago it looked fairly rough and $1000 is a little steep for me to spend on something that wont be driven on the street

you could probably go with 500 - 600 cash and take it off his hands. its just sitting there and its gonna need some work. personally i wouldnt drive it on the road cause reck check will pull a james on you, haha

If you could get it for 6 or 7 with the swampers that aint half bad .......the tires you run are one of the largest factors of making it to the other side of a mud hole.(too bad they r 31")
But that rig with a suspention lift and locked the rear (and the front if you dont mind changing parts often) she can be made into a lil beast with some work.................I dono if it runs worth a chit or not .........check it out

well i went down there today it is bad!!!!!
the tires arent super swampers they are Mickey Thopmson CLaws that Have ZERO tread left
the body it shot there is nothing left to the tub
one of the body mounts is threw the floor the frame at the rear is rotten to shit
this truck aint worth more then scrap value
The guy didnt come out or nothing and i dont know if it runs but it is SHIT!!!!!!
not something i would recommend to anyone

Is that the White one near Vine st? I Looked at it the other night and it did indeed have good swampers on it. I wonder if he sold the tires trying to make some money on this thing.
