pinball wizardToday I was finishing a small job at my father in-laws place and he showed me his pinball machine collection. Some very interesting stuff. We got to talking about them and I showed a little interest in some of the older style before everything was circuit boards. A couple of his machines where having a little trouble......next thing you know I've got my tools and meter out and I'm head first into them. LOL I fixed a couple of problems, mostly worn contacts or broken wires. We played a few games and it was fun on a rainy day. Next week there is a big auction because this huge arcade on Young St. in TO went under. He's gona maybe pick up a newer style machine but for the older style man I tell ya its true they don't build em like they used to... it would cost a million.

there really cool how they operate before the digital circuits....
i have a nintendo arcade that holds 10 games.they look like ram chips.. i got like 5 more games.. its great
. i have all the parts except monitor and box to make a nintendo arcade bar top or table top unit because my friends father gave me all the parts when i bought the machine to make another.....

The newest one is Getaway, he has 4 others. He is quite involved on Ebay and thats how he got all of his machines. The earliest is 1962.... It seems that there are only 2 makers of pinball machines and one has recently gone under. He is able to provide me with electrical schematics downloaded from the net, he's just not that strong with a multimeter. He was very excited when I jumped in there and fixed a problem with one of the solenoids for a flipper and hunted down some corroded contacts. I think he wants to buy a machine that doesn't work for spare parts.... a working one cost about 900 so it shouldn't be that much. If you would put me in contact with this guy I would appreciate it T. I'm gona try Nuteck in St. Catharines also.
It was fun listening to some of his stories as a kid playing pinball long before any other style of electronic game.
