how to use this board and some of its features

here are some basics for using some features on this message board. if your reading this ill safely assume you can read and reply. if not, leave a reply and ill do what i can to help Wink

smiley faces, or emoticons as theyre called, on the left of the reply box youll see a bunch of little yellow heads, clicking on one will bring it into your reply wherever the little line is that makes the letters appear. such as this Confused Cool Twisted Evil Idea Arrow

below that is a thing that says view more emoticons, clicking that will open a window with a few more, simply push the button on those and itll add them to your message.

attaching images, this can be done a few different ways. if you already have a picture hosted online through photobucket.com or any other online picture hosting site, you can simply push the button under the subject line that says IMG, this will bring up the letters IMG inside of a set of bracket [] like those, after you input the link to the picture click the img button again and itll once again bring u pthe brackets bt inside itll say /IMG

another way to put a picture onto here is to use the attach file feature. under the message body box, that thing you type into, theres a little thing that says attach file. clicking on that will bring up a new window. on the top you click on browse and then select in your computer where you have the image stored. now just below that is a resize feature. this will automatically resize your picture for you to whatever size it gives you the option for or you can leave it the original size. below that is a little box that you can click on to make this picture into a thumbnail thats a little preview of what the picture is. ill post an example of the difference.

as a thumbnail

Click to see full size image

as the original size wihout a thumbnail for a preview

making a poll, this is where you leave options for people to vot eon things. quite simple to make, just aove the submit button you have the option for the poll, simply input the question you want for the poll in the poll question box, below that it says poll options, put your optional responses there and click on add option otherwise it wont show up. you can still have a message body in the message body box.

some other features of the board. the quote button. if you just click on quote above someone elses reply itll automatically open a reply box for you with their message quoted and then you just type away what you want to say. also you can manually quote things. under the subject in in the reply box it says Quote, same as withthe IMG option, clickthing that will bring up the word quote inside of the brackets, input what you want to quote and then click on quote again, so itll come up as somehting like this

some other features are the ability to change the letters to make them into bold or italics or underline them. same way you use the img and quote buttons, you use the B, I and U buttons at the top of the rpely box.

the rest of the features youll never really use so i wont get into details about using them. there are a bunch of features that are also available for adding video directly to the messages, ill get into those in another post
