How expensive is wheelin?

Now here's a laugh.... My rubi has now almost 5000K on it, I can only imagine that at least half of that is off road and probably a quarter is hard wheelin.   This morning my morning my eco was at 19.3 L/100k thats 5.2K/L
hmmmmm lets see at $133/L .......you do the math!

I know your mileage gets better with a few K on the engine.... but not 4 times better....LOL

Never go by the computers, I have heard of guys in the Newer Dodges that are getting silly numbers out of the computer units like 40 MPG.
mudbug

Hey mike I saw you 2 times this morning when I was dashing all over town in the sammy looking for a timmys that had less than 10 cars in the drivethrew and found the one at drumman was 1 car in front of me Cool

Ya that is some bad milage you have there I bet you have some mud and chit messing with your sensors or a muddy air filter Rolling Eyes

We can't have fun wheelin' if we're worrying about milage...actually i can't have fun wheelin' cuz my damn truck won't start again...i wish my only problem was bad milage.  LMAO
Mike Dill

Could be, I have cleaned the filter.  I dropped about 100lbs (honestly) at the carwash today (they have a love hate thing with me).  I have a feeling that running 7grand to get 40K/h has something to do with it.  My lockers only work in low which means lots and lots of high rpms in the mud pit.  Have found a hack but haven't decide if its worth loosing my warrenty (I'm leaning towards yes).

Anyway having it into the dealer tomorrow to see why my alternator is making that waaaaaaaa noise (LOL like I don't know).

haha appently i cant afford wheeling either.... im gonna decide if its worth it to keep going on goldie.. hopefully just needs some wrench time no parts... or if i start stripping it to put on my new pickup and my daily driver...

ive found i get way better milage if i do the top up your tank metheod... if i never let it get below 3/4s i get way better milage!

im hoping a pickup that is alot lighter than a second generation 4runner will also get better milage eventually as i know my 1987 4runner got alot better milage than my 93 when i switched..

so mike there gonna so
rotor and altenator and a bunch of other stuff.. a warrenty is worth it when you break things chippawa style!

Another reason I wheel a Samurai, I get about a million MPG in it LOL!
Mike Dill

this may be true but we are all well aware that your severely lacking power.
lostsoul

Who needs power when I can idle though crap and besides, I have enough gear to make up for most of the power LOL!
Mike Dill

I know man, you wheel though things that I only wish I could at the present. I do believe  that part of your sense of security comes from the fact that there's not a lot to compare to.  I don't think there are too many other trucks around this area on 38's, that I've seen anyway. I do believe that if there where you might be left wanting for things like articulation and power.
89lxstanger

lot of horse realy only matters if your bogging trail running youll never really need it.

and mike a set of 35's  would look really purdy on that jeep and you could go alot further:D i say get some Smile
Mike Dill

I can go 38's with a bolt on lift.  And I need a lot of lift to raise my break over (116" wheel base).
89lxstanger

wow that is long thats about 4 inches longer than what my runner is at so ya 38's would not be a bad route then lol. hows that bolt on kit perform? and whats that worth i can only imagine
big t

gearing is amazing.....

i want  to go for a dual t-case so i can keep my normal high and low range.. but on the trails behind people like rob who can idle i can just smell my clutch burning cause i only have GO.

and you might aswell get you want the first time and not end up paying for stuff twice...

those mud ti res work good... lift and 38s would be amazing.... people dont have issues running that size tire on a stock axle shaft?? are there chromo replacments??
lostsoul

The one I got ordered for Pete's Rubi was $5500 Canadian and $3600 or so out of the States.
Mike Dill

Full Traction 6" long arm is $3000. but I bet I'm looking at about $7000 with wheels, tires, drive shaft, Ujoints, gears.

This is what I really, really want,
