couple cb questionsok first off... the trucker at my work hooked me up, because im always good to him.

also got the anneta and the coaxial cable
what channel do you guys roll on??
this c.b will work for what we do?? the meter works he said.
now the buttons on this monster are vol squeltch dunamike rf gain delta tune swb cal THEN its got switches...
how do i get this to work???
im going outside to hook it all up..
he is also going to give me a brand new unit. a cobra that he didnt like... he has this same one in his truck...
hes old like 70s so i didnt want to ask him too many questions.. after he offered them for free.

That thing will work great for you, we usually run on 4 so when ever you have it ready, start coming my way and I will go turn on the one in the Zuk and we can see what kind of range we have. Mind you I would probably have to put the K40 back in to get real range.

WOW i have 40 channels... if thats alot it seems like it...
im not getting any sound but it hink tahts because i got no one to talk to..
i have to mount antenna i was just playing with it no mounted.. the anntenna is the same one on his big rig... and the part i talk into has a 9 volt battery...

You need to make sure that the antenna is matched to the radio using the built in SWR meter.If the match is in the red you will burn out the transmitting part of the radio. If you want some help setting it up I am free Sat afternoon .PM me if you need help.

You have a power mike so keep the dynamike at about 1/4 . set the delta tune at about 50% . the squelch cuts out the noise, . If you still can't figure it out come over and i'll show you i have 2 of those radios

cool well i would assume my annenta is right because the guy gave me the unit brand new cord and antenna and he is a trucker..
i h ave no sound ocming out and nothing going on on the meter... i was only holding the anntenna.. i have it all wired and tommorow ill mount the anntenna... if the speaker is blown there is a port on the back for an external...
i think someone needs to be talking for me to h ear any noise...
thanks for those settings tips..
ill finishing mounting it tommorow.

I would have to see it to tell you, but the antenna and Unit should be matched for proper output.

oh and NEVER NEVER use the SWR meter on the radios. THEY LIE, go pick up a SWR meter at radio crap or ask me and ill let you use mine, the ones on the radio never give the truth, you need one that runs INLINE with the cowax.

i still get no sound on my c.b the trucker that gave it too me gave me the annetta and new cable so i assume they are the right one.... should have the trail rig mobile this afternoon or i could cut it out.....
might have to get someone to look at her..cause im gonna need this puppy lol

I know I don't get sound on my Cobra with the mic disconnected. If your mic connected? Maybe there's something wrong with it?

yeah im gonna double check everything but the guys could hear me hey but no sound and i got no sound on the run on sunday..
i talked with the trucker who gave me the cb and h e is gonna give me another one... i would like to fix this one too just incase and then i could pass it on to someone who needs one.

If people had hear you on their CB's than it should be working. I'm not sure, but I think that model may have an option for an external speaker on the back. Maybe the internal speaker is blown (unless it doesn't have an internal), try using external speakers or headphones, should be just a regular 3.5mm minijack

the guy in the sunrunner said he could hear me key in but thats it..
water ended up going to the throttle body.. oil change new plugs distib cap and wires should get it going good.. the afm test out fine...im prolly gonna call angry trucker get him to take a look at it.

Just save a few bucks and get a new one the cobra i have in my pick up was like 65 bucks from work and the one in mikes pick up was 45
