I have been taking the kids to fish at lock 7 on the east side of the canal .It's not the canal itself but it branches off of the canal .If you take thorold stone rd. as far as the lights just before the tunnel hang a rite go to the end of the road you will see an old road that has been blocked off just go around it and fish off the brige........cought some nice sized bass there!!!

harbour

theres some decent fishing at the harbour in port, if ya fish off the dock towards the rocks u can catch some nice sized large and smallmouth, theres also a decent ammount of perch.

henly island, theres a car bridge, if you fish on the south side of that bridge when theres a light drizzle of rain they seem to bite very good there. and over by lock 1 is a nother good spot, its where the ppilot boat parts, just walk to the other end of the wall, the fish are good there b.c when the ships are in the canel and the water is pumping them down, the fish seem to get pushed or something back that way...

As far a I know T, the best spot around is the point of the GNBC in chippawa.  The bass are in the current so their real feisty, lots of jumps.  They sit on the edge of the wall there waiting for food to drop off coming from the lyons creek.  I  used to fish there a lot when my folks had their boat there.  Its a members only club which is why you dont see many fishing there but you can get a guest membership for about $25 I think.  Thats one of the only spots I can remember catching bass on a spinner....... feisty bastards..
